Rating by category:
Locatie centraal, Union square zit om de hoek. De buurt is wel vrij slecht. Er lopen veel daklozen rond. Kamers waren klein en bedden waren niet comfortabel.
The hotel staff was so friendly and helpful - always smiling. They provided directions and suggestions for dinner.
A bit more variety for the continental breakfast and the mattress on the bed really needed replacing..... very soft and springy.
location was nice, and the rate was reasonable!
I liked the combination of budget with personality (the theater theme).
The room was a little cramped, but okay for a single person only using it to sleep and go. Leaving at 5:00 A.M. I was met by no coffee and a curt and surly clerk.
The location of this hotel is fantastic. It is only a block away from the corner where the cable car makes its turn at the end of Powell Street. It is also on the fringe of a bad neighborbodd but as long as you don't go beyond the corner of the hotel, it is fine. Also, lots of police regularly patrol the area so it is safe. As noted by other reviewers, there are lots of drunks hanging around the area due to the liquor store across the street from the hotel but police patrol often to ensure the drunks stay away from the hotel doors. The hotel is no frills but is clean. The windows are not double paned so outdoor sounds do sound loud if you are not used to city noise (e.g. ambulances, police horns and people talking as they pass by the hotel). We were on the 4th floor but the sounds still travel up. Overall, we would stay here again.
The low flow shower head was really awful. It was a super low, low flow showerhead. It took me three times longer to rinse out the shampoo from my hair so not so sure that a low flow shower head helped the hotel save money on water.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. On the day I checked out, I left my luggages in the hotel and went on a city tour. They held my luggages in a secure area until 7:00 pm when I return. Very nice service.
Good value for San fransico
It is in the center
A bit of noise at nigth
It was a good budget hotel in a very good location. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room clean. It was all we asked for in accommodation for our two days in sf. We would stay there again.
Location. Morning coffeee & tea. Staff helpful.
No HD television and limited channels.Air conditioner seemed weak.
Clean, close to the bart station, cute
Homeless by the door
We were pleasantly surprised to get breakfast included in the very reasonable cost of the room. Everyone who worked at the hotel was helpful and friendly and the rooms and public spaces were in excellent conditions. I liked that there seemed to be mostly Europeans and Asians there and have already recommended it to many people.
Central position for traveling San Francisco
The neighrboud is a bit dangerous in late hours if You walk alone. The wifi Internet accces did not work always properly with my Iphone but only for short periods
Nothing - I cannot recommend this hotel
Awful - no-one at the desk for check-in, noisy room (next door to the sports bar), small gray towels, old and dingy room .... nothing linked to the movie theme in my room, small bathroom, 35 minutes to retrieve my car in the morning
Really soft, uncomfortable beds. Lots of street noise. Lots of homeless on the corner near entrance of hotel. Front desk guy on a lot of cocaine.
